Book Blogger Hop
This is a weekly blog hop that seems to be a great way for bloggers to meet each other. This is my first time stumbling upon it, but I think its going to be a lot of fun.
This week's question is: TELL US ABOUT THE BOOK YOU ARE CURRENTLY READING!
I am currently reading Bloodring by Faith Hunter. I'm only a few chapters in, and since this is the first book in a series, I do not have much of a clue as to whats going on yet. As of right all I know is the book is told from the point of view of a neomage named Thorn, who is in hiding for fear of her life since she is the only one not in the Enclave. She is hiding amongst humans, and when her ex-husband is kidnapped, she becomes a suspect.
Starting a new series is always exciting yet frustrating for me. I love new things, but at the same time its very frustrating to not understand whats going on. Eventually, after reading for a while, you start to make sense of whats happening. However, once I finish reading the most recent book in a series I get frustrated all over again because I want to keep reading, but the books are not out yet. Then, the process starts all over again with a new series. I think it wouldn't be so bad if I did not read so fast, because then the process would be drawn out longer. However, when you finish most novels in 2-4 hours, the cycle never seems to end. Anyone else have this frustration problem?

ReplyDeleteI feel the same frustrations as you do with begining (or finishing) a new series! Although, I don't read nearly as quickly as you do...
Hi Kt - thanks for stopping by my blog via the Hop! I'm your newest follower.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great weekend and happy reading! :)))
I to feel the same about a series, once I start I get frustrated because I want to keep reading, sometimes I just wait till three or four are out and read them all at once but then your left waiting for the additional books. I really felt like this about Charlaine Harris' books. Love your blog and am now following. Have an awesome weekend. kittycrochettwo.blogspot.com
ReplyDeletePopping on over, thanks for stopping at my blog--plus the follow!
ReplyDeleteTo be honest I go in to reading a book with a lot of faith. I'm always sure that the new writer will give me what I need and I'll love it. Maybe that's why I take a bad read a little too personal. ^_-
I haven't heard good things about Bloodring, but I look forward to your review!
Following you back from the Hop. I share your frustration. I always hate the wait between books of a series.
ReplyDeletefollowing you now via that blog hop. Great blog!

Hi! I visited you yesterday and tried three times to leave comments but couldn't...but I see that I can now. Yes, I have the same problem with series and I was going to recommend some series that have a lot of books out already but I see that you have already read a lot of the same ones as me (Vampire Academy, Sookie Stackhouse, Georgina Kincaid, etc). Have you tried the Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward? There are 8 books out to date and they are smexy good...
ReplyDeleteKelli, Yes! I have to agree that the Black Dagger Brotherhood is very smexy good ;)
