Teaser Tuesday (8)

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:


* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My teaser is from City of Glass by Cassandra Clare.  This is the 3rd book in the Mortal Instruments Series. The teaser comes from 61% of the way in according to my kindle. (Sorry, no page number, that's one of the very few downsides to the kindle)

 "I won't touch you, not if you don't want me to. I know it's wrong- God, it's all kinds of wrong- but I just want to lie down with you and wake up with you, just once, just once ever in my life." There was desperation in his voice. "It's just this one night. In the grand scheme of things, how much can one night matter?"

    I'm pretty sure I know who's saying this, and who he is saying it to! I've read the first two books in TMI, but haven't had a chance to get the City of Glass, yet.

    I sometimes have the same page number issue when I use teasers from my Nook!

    What a quote to randomly pick! Great one but Clare's wit is seriously everywhere. It would be hard for me not to high light the whole book of favorite yummy quotes. Her writing is just wonderful in that way.

    I've been saving these novels for a day when I'm in a serious reading slump but this teaser makes me want to give up that notion and open the first book now! Great pick.
