Book Blogger Confessions (6)
This meme is hosted by Tiger from Tiger's All Consuming Books and Karen from For What It's Worth on the first and third Monday of each month.
This week's question:
We have created a blogging time machine! Pretend you can start over. Knowing what you know now about blogging – what do you wish you did differently when it comes to creating your blog?
Honestly, I don't think I would start over. All the bumps and starts along the way, taught me what I know about blogging now. I needed all those experiences to make my blog what it is today. I'm not one to really wish to change the past about anything because I'm a firm believer in learning from your mistakes building you character and making you a better person.
That being said, if I had to choose one thing to do differently, I would have started scheduling out my posts earlier on. In the beginning, I wasn't very consistent with my review postings. Some days would have 3-4 reviews posted in one day, and then I wouldn't post another one for several days. I much prefer the consistency scheduling allows me.
Erm.. I just thought about something else I would change (I know, I know I said I don't believe in changing things, but this one isn't really an experience learner so it doesn't count. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.) If I could, I would go back to when I was creating the blog/email/twitter handles and I would make them all match. I just wish I had of made my email and twitter some form of A Book Obsession.. as it would have made it easier for readers to keep it associated with me and my blog. That's the biggest reason why I never change my avatar of a vamp mouth biting a red rose, as that consistency across all the different platforms hopefully helps make it obvious all the accounts belong to me.
