Most Valuable Book: From your personal collection of books, which ones
hold the most value to you - is it signed by the author? or maybe it's
your favorite story of all time? Share it with us.
That is really difficult to decide. I have so many books that I LOVE and own a physical copy of, that it is impossible to choose just one. At least I can narrow it down somewhat by excluding my Kindle only books.
I'm all about my book library and I'm also an extreme cover whore. My dream is to someday have a library with floor to ceiling bookshelves completely full of books. If you want to see my collection as of March, here's a link to pictures of my Bookshelves. (Note, these pics don't include all the books I've acquired since then.)
So to start off, I'll put up a widget of my signed books, because I think it is so awesome to have signed editions of books. They may me uber happy. ;)
As far as most valuable in the monetary sense, I have a leather bound limited edition Signed copy of Counterfeit Magic by Kelley Armstrong. There were two different types of these printed, and this one was the more rare one, with only 1000 printed. I own #655.
As far as most valuable in the I cannot live without them sense. Well that would have to be the entire Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost (Including the spinoffs). Seriously if the Zombie Appocalpyse ever happens, these are the books I will have to bring with me to safety. I could re-read them a hundred times and never get tired of them.
Hrm.. I think I may have over analyzed the question this week. Whoops ;)
Ha! You can never over analyze things when it comes to books!! My answer got longwinded as well! Love Jeaniene's books too!! Cannot wait for Vlad on the 26!
*Sighs* I'm going to have a really hard time deciding what to read on the 26th, as both Vlad's book, and Before I Wake by Rachel Vincent come out. Both authors are on my top must read lists. Decisions, Decisions.
Oh crap, I just realized that I bought both of those books from The Book Depository rather than Amazon's release day delivery. Why did I do that?? Now I have to wait even longer ><
Oh man! I know! Sooooooo many awesome books are relasing that day! There's also Keri Arthur's book that I want to read! Might have to go with Vlad's book, then Rachel's book! Still have to read Shadow Bound too! Sooo behind on a lot of series since I got so many review copies! Plus I work in the morning from 8-12 and when I was unemployed those were my peak reading hours! I had to take a job so I could keep myself supplied with the books, so my TBR pile has expanded into several piles! Plus a bunch on my kindle! It's crazy!
I was lucky enough to receive an early copy of Darkness Devours, (Review Here), so that reduced my choice down by one.
I start back to work in the fall of 2013 as my youngest will be starting all day kindergarten. I cringe to thing about how much my reading will suffer come then. Granted right now, I only can read during the kiddos naps and after they go to bed, but I have a feeling I'll be going to bed shortly after they do as I won't be able to stay up so late once the early morning work days start. So, between the early mornings and the time spent commuting/ going to bed early, the reading time will be severely limited.
Seriously, a good cover will make me 100x more likely to pick up a book. It's a shame as I'm sure I miss out on good stories because of this, but what can I say? I love covers.
lol - I loved hearing the story behind why these books are so valuable to you and the depth of your thinking. ANd of course, now I must add The Night Huntress series to the list of books I want to read.
