Book Blogger Confessions (12)
This meme is hosted by Tiger from Midnyte Reader and Karen from For What It's Worth on the first and third Monday of each month.
This week's question:
We've discussed blogging slumps before but have you ever seriously considered throwing in the towel and quitting blogging? If so, what changed your mind? Did you discuss it with other bloggers?
I can't say that I've ever thought about throwing the towel. I just love doing this too much. Are there times where I feel overwhelmed or bogged down? Sure. Are there times where getting the words out for a review feels like I'm pulling my nails out? YES! However, I trudge through because the "lower" days are nothing when you compare it to the rewards. I mean heck, if I hadn't of started this blog almost 3 years ago, I never would have found my dream job working for Entangled Publishing. I mean I wouldn't have been so centered in the book and blogging world, so A I wouldn't have even heard about the job, and B, even if I had somehow heard about it, I wouldn't have had the knowledge of the "blogosphere" and publishing that has really helped me so much with this career.
I will say that I have had to take a step back and cut back a bit on my reading and blogging schedule as my free time has lessened drastically, but between Kirsten and I, we're posting every weekday at least once, most days at least twice. So I don't think the quality has suffered despite my prioritizing. :)
